The Technical and Reporting Accountant will have an important role in ensuring that the group’s accounting is consistent with New UK GAAP. The post-holder will be a key point of contact for the group’s auditors and will be responsible for the preparation of company statutory accounts and involved in preparation of the consolidated accounts. Recent experience of financial accounting is therefore important.
The post-holder will prepare and review reports on the financial performance of our regulated companies for submission to the industry regulator, the Financial Conduct Authority.
The group’s strategy is to expand significantly through acquisitions. It is expected that the post-holder will take a key role in developing the statutory and regulatory reporting processes and controls to ensure that the growth is successfully handled.
The post-holder will be responsible for pulling together tax packs for all newly acquired companies. This will involve liaising with staff at the acquired company and analysis of data from the accounts software used by the acquired company as well as data on Netsuite post acquisition. The role will also include tax tagging of financial statements.
Whilst the group is expanding, there is also a planned programme of business closure, once trade has transferred into the Group’s regulated entities. Acquired companies will be liquidated or struck off and this role will be required to assist in this process.
The role includes the preparation of monthly management accounts for those companies that are in the planned business closure programme.
Whilst strong financial accounting experience is a pre-requisite for this position, experience in the other areas, whilst desirable, is not essential as full training and support will be given to the candidate possessing aptitude and ambition to learn.
