A Cornishman, Brian left Penzance to study Zoology at London University, pursuing a varied career thereafter starting with Olivetti IDP London (Banking), finally becoming Director of Marketing and Sales with a number of computer software firms (IBM and ICL) latterly working solely with International Banks and Investment companies.
With a young family, Brian decided to move nearer home settling in Tavistock and living on the edge of Dartmoor for some 23 years. With AEGON/Scottish Equitable he was a manager in various UK offices, but in 1997 he decided that he wanted to ‘return to his real roots’. Brian became a director of TMS Financial Solutions, which over 20 years grew into a leading West Country IFA and one of the largest firms to join the Succession Group. Within Succession, Brian continues to work closely with solicitors and accountants, specialising in financial planning for high net worth individuals. His speciality is pensions for which he holds the G60 qualification.
With 4 children, who travel extensively in their various ‘walks of life’, and 9 grandchildren, he – and Lesley his wife – are kept pretty busy.
Brian is a Yachtmaster and lives on Restronguet Creek between Truro and Falmouth. His social life therefore tends to revolve around the sea and recently he became Chairman of the National Maritime Museum Cornwall. He is a committee member of various local organisations and enjoys most water sports, golf and cycling.
